I've never said it would be "impossible to implement because it would put too much additional strain on the servers". I have, however, expressed such concerns about the various proposals for "Reload all with...". But Weapon Grouping makes "Reload all with..." unnecessary... or implements it neatly, depending on how you look at it.
For you it's a serious server optimization then. For us it's just a long overdue UI tweak.
